Not every problem is yours to solve, but every problem may be worth understanding. Some problems need immediate action. Some belong with the person closest to the work. Some need to be watched because they may reveal a pattern. And some probably shouldn’t consume much of our attention at all.

Perhaps the measure of the next generation of technology won’t be how much information it can give us, but how much better it helps us answer the questions that mattered all along. 

Before we document a process, standardize it, build it into the next system, or teach AI how to perform it, perhaps the most important question is also the simplest: Why does this process exist? Because standardizing a bad process doesn’t make it better; it only makes it easier to repeat.
