This year, the 2025 Annual WoodWare Systems Users Conference was held at the Memphis Hilton, March 18th–20th. The three day conference brought together WoodWare customers from all over the country to observe enhancements being made in WoodWare V8.7. It was also a wonderful opportunity to network with other industry professionals, get questions answered, and see the latest technology solutions from WoodWare Systems.

Mike Gardner kicks off the conference by highlighting system updates to WoodWare.

Mike Gardner, WoodWare’s COO, opened the conference’s first day highlighting system updates since last year. Many questions came up about the reporting changes being made this year in WoodWare. WoodWare will be migrating to the InterSystems reporting tools built in the database. With SAP moving away from supporting Crystal Reports, WoodWare felt it was a good time to make this transition. A major benefit to WoodWare customers is that InterSystems Reports and Report Designer are included with IRIS at no additional cost.  An added plus is that barcode fonts are included, which for WoodWare DocXT users will make creating reports with barcodes much easier. The first day concluded with a discussion about the importance of WoodWare Attributes in producing data flow that is specific to the organization’s structure and data needs.

A delicious catered dinner was provided on the evening of Day 1.

Day 2 of the conference opened with a workshop about Good Data “In,” and the importance of order entry oversight. Common support questions were discussed about order line management, such as how to understand Var-I-Frame error messages, how to check for correct inventory commits, how to use “on-the-fly” door measurements, and how to handle changing sales orders from one customer to another.

The next workshop covered Configured Order Entry–how customers can create and maintain their Configured Order Entry workbook. Afterwards, David Hockenbroch, Senior Analyst, led a workshop on DocXT and the upcoming enhancements being made to the module. The day ended with a focus on Physical Inventory. Attendees discussed the challenges they faced in the past and how WoodWare has helped them be more efficient when doing a physical inventory.

She spoke about the plans for more electronic training on WoodWare with tools to help with onboarding new employees. Attendees discussed what platforms they most use, find the most efficient and impactful, and how they would like to see future resources allocated. Different options were discussed such as quarterly webinars and online breakout classes. Cathy emphasized that WoodWare’s ultimate goal is to give the user the multiple resources to ensure their success with the WoodWare System.
